What we keep hearing
Revenue has plateaued. Margins are thinning. The team is busy but the business isn't growing. Owners tell us they feel stuck, doing the same things and expecting different results. Some have tried hiring more people; others have cut costs until there was nothing left to cut. Neither worked.
What we do about it
We diagnose the root cause first, not the symptoms. Sometimes it is a pricing model that hasn't been updated in five years. Sometimes it is a sales process that leaks prospects at the proposal stage. We identify the specific bottleneck, then design a fix your team can implement without outside help once we leave.
What we help with
Each engagement starts with a diagnostic phase. We only recommend work we believe will return at least three times its cost within twelve months.
Revenue growth strategy
We map your customer acquisition funnel from first touch to signed contract. Then we find the stage where you lose the most money and fix it. Typical engagements run six to eight weeks. One client, a Cardiff-based software firm, increased close rates by 22% after we restructured their proposal format and follow-up timing.
Operational efficiency
Where is your team spending time that doesn't generate value? We audit workflows, meeting cadences and reporting structures. The goal is to free up 10 to 15 hours per week of senior staff time without hiring anyone new. We document every change so you can train new joiners on the improved process.
Financial modelling and forecasting
Many of our clients run on gut feel. That works until it doesn't. We build spreadsheet models tailored to your business that let you test scenarios: what happens if you raise prices 8%? What if your biggest customer leaves? You keep the model and the training to update it yourself.
Leadership and team alignment
Growth stalls when the leadership team pulls in different directions. We facilitate structured planning sessions, usually two half-days, that produce a single-page strategic plan everyone can reference. No jargon, no mission-statement exercises. Just clear priorities, owners and deadlines for the next 90 days.
How an engagement works
-
Discovery call
A 30-minute video call, free of charge. You describe the challenge; we ask questions. By the end we both know whether there is a fit. If not, we say so honestly.
-
Diagnostic phase
We spend one to two weeks inside your business. We interview key staff, review financials and observe operations. The output is a short diagnostic memo, typically four to six pages, that names the core problem and proposes a scope of work.
-
Agreed engagement
You approve the scope and a fixed fee. No hourly billing, no scope creep surprises. We work on-site or remotely depending on the task, usually a mix of both.
-
Implementation support
We don't just hand over a document. We stay involved during the first round of implementation, troubleshooting problems as they come up. Most engagements wrap within ten weeks.
-
Follow-up review
Sixty days after the engagement ends, we schedule a check-in call to measure results against the targets we set together. This call is included in the original fee.
Questions we get asked
It depends on the scope, but most engagements fall between £4,000 and £18,000 as a fixed fee. The diagnostic phase is always quoted separately so you can stop after that stage if you choose. We never bill by the hour.
Most of our clients have between 5 and 80 employees. The sweet spot is owner-managed businesses turning over £500k to £10m. At that size, small changes in process or pricing have an outsized impact on profit.
The diagnostic phase works best with at least one on-site day so we can observe operations directly. After that, most of the work happens remotely via video calls and shared documents. We have worked with clients across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland without any issues.
Professional services, light manufacturing, technology and e-commerce make up about 80% of our client base. That said, the operational and financial principles we apply transfer well across sectors. If your challenge is revenue, margin or team productivity, we can probably help regardless of your industry.
We set measurable targets at the start of every engagement. If we miss the agreed target by more than 20%, we will do additional work at no charge until you reach it or refund a proportional share of the fee. We have only triggered that clause twice in eight years.
